“Gustavus gave me the personal and professional tools to succeed in graduate school and land my first job. I found that the skills the physics department taught me were directly applicable to the work I performed in graduate school and currently at my job. The most valuable tools I received were in the form of laboratory work. From keeping proper notes while performing an experiment to troubleshooting electronic components I have found my laboratory skills an invaluable asset in all of my research and know that it will be useful for anyone pursuing a job in the sciences. In addition to my technical skills the other components of my Gustavus experience prepared me to think outside of the box, especially the Curriculum 2 courses that were so vital to my way of thinking while up on the hill. I am so proud to be a gustie, and know that I wouldn’t have come as far in my career or personal life without what Gustavus gave me.”
